Beverly A. Block

Ms. Block is a Director of the firm and member of the firm’s Litigation Services Group. Ms. Block represents plaintiffs and defendants in commercial litigation matters in federal and state court. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Block served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Jeffery A. Deller of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Ms. Block began her legal career practicing commercial litigation for a large international law firm.

Selected Engagements

  • Obtained housing accommodation and award of attorneys fees for family of disabled child based on violations of the Fair Housing Act.
  • Counsel clients in negotiation of employment contracts, contracts for services, and business formation contracts.
  • Defended group of property owners in a dispute involving the desired relocation of an easement and successfully obtained judicial reformation of an ambiguous consent decree.
  • Represented group of partners of large international architecture company in a breach of fiduciary duty and wrongful termination case.
  • Defended local restaurant against the EEOC in a race discrimination suit.
  • Defended lumber company involved in an adversary proceeding, which alleged claims for intentional and constructive fraud.
  • Assumed author role for a 48-page report, enabling the Board of an international telecommunications company to reject a multi-million dollar shareholder derivative lawsuit.
